The Main Entrance

Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is located at 232 Academy Street in Boonville, NY set in the magnificent rural atmosphere of Central New York with farms adjacent to our own gardens. At the west end of the complex you will find ample area for visitor and staff parking close to the Main Entrance. During your short walk from the parking lot, you will notice our expansive grounds to our south before you will enter our fully airconditioned facility. Upon entry, you cannot help but notice the magnificent, secure and protected landscaped gardens seen through the picture windows in front of you where residents spend many a thoughtful moment.

As you enter and on your right, is the main administrative hub and operational center. Our receptionist is will be available to assist you with any questions. You will often find residents relaxing, chatting or reading a book in this main sitting area.


Sunset is divided into three (3) wings which are all interconnected on a single level. The residents rooms in each wing are essentially the same. We do not congregate residents with similar disabilities or ailments into designated areas and so you will find a pleasant mix throughout.

Residents have many services readily available to them within Sunset. Apart from medical care, dental and beautician services as well as occupational, speech and physical therapies are available on the premises.

Garden Splendor

During the course of any day, residents participate at their own choice in a variety of activities. These activities are quite varied, ranging from a simple walk or chat in our vast gardens to the monthly birthday bash, bingo, cards, sing-a-longs, concerts from visiting bands to family barbeque nights during the summer and much more. Some activities even stretch a little into the night.
  At Sunset, we also offer regular Annual and Bi-Annual events designed to provide the residents with the kinds of activities that they have been familiar with during their lives before coming to Sunset. Two of these are the Annual Fall Bazaar where local crafts, baked goods and other items are available in a Fall Bazaar atmosphere right in the facility and the Bi-Annual Residents' Shoppers Service Day.where residents get a chance to shop to new fashions at affordable prices in the comfort of their own home.

Sunset endeavors to make a resident's experience feel as much like home as possible. We strongly encourage visitors. Visiting hours are from 9:00am to 9:00pm daily. You may even bring along your canine or feline friends.

In most seasons, you might decide to take a leisurely walk with your loved one through the gardens at night. They are quite, picturesque and offer a cool, calm aubience.

Naturally, we provide all the health care and medical services that you would expect. Our team of dedicated, long serving medical and orderly staff supported by a strong contingent of enthusiastic volunteers take care of the every need of our family of residents. Our office administrators also do their bit by ensuring that the mundane and routine clerical needs recive the attention which they demand too.
 

As you can tell from this virtual tour, Sunset is a great place to reside in those twilight years. There is a lot to do each and every day or just nothing if that is what you choose. In fact, a whole day can fly by without you even realizing it.
